I picked this little bugger up yesterday. In short, I have been able to start in safe mode, unhide all of the hidden files/folders/etc, run malwarebytes (I had an old definition file - removed what it found), ran SbyBot (latest version - removed what it found), and was then able to update malwarebytes, rerun, and removed everything that it found. The computer is able to at least boot up now without the anoying malware.

I just ran DDS, and have copied the contents of DDS.txt below. Can anyone provide any assistance (another set of eyes always helps - especially if they are more experienced eyes) to see if the machine is clean?

Dave

Hi and welcome to Malwarebytes.

Please download Unhide.exe by Grinler and save it to your Desktop.

Run it, then restart your computer.

Please update MBAM, run a Quick Scan, and post its log.

Next, please visit this webpage for instructions for running ComboFix:

  • When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you.
  • Please post the C:\ComboFix.txt along with a new DDS log so we may continue cleaning the system.
