Hello. When I ran my avira antivir free AV it detected this BOO/Sinowal.H virus. I did some research and was startled by what this malware can do. I don't know what to do and I'm anxious as I've read this malware is a backdoor that keylogs banking, credit card sensitive information and I use my PC to transact with business online. I've read that symptoms are browser redirects to ad sites and some other unusual behaviors on your computer. So far, I haven't experienced any of this. It's maybe because I use Opera and seldom uses Firefox and never IE and Google Chrome. I found this site while researching for solutions. I don't know what to do so I want to ask for your help before my online accounts (Paypal, credit card, etc) are compromised.

Hi, I'm not a moderator, but I'm here to advise you what to do while waiting for help.

None of the moderators are online so you'll have to wait.

You can read these instructions here.

- One of the expert helpers there will give you one-on-one assistance when one becomes available.

- After posting your new topic, make sure under options (top right of your topic screen), you select Track this topic and choose one of the Email options (prefer Immediate Email Notification) so that you're alerted when someone has replied to your post.

- Please be patient when waiting for an expert help as the expert helpers can get a bit busy.

- Please try not to post back (bump) your topic within the first 48 hours. Expert helpers will find the topics which has a zero post count first. If you bump your topic, expert helpers may think the topic is replied and jump to other posts.

- If there is no reply from any experts after 48 hours, you can reply the topic for asking help again or send a Private Message to a Moderator asking for assistance.

Please do not alter the system (eg install or uninstall any software, conduct some fixes, use any removal/scanning tool) after posting unless it is told by the expert helper. Using these other tools often makes the cleanup task more difficult and time consuming.

Hi and welcome to Malwarebyes.

Bumping your topic makes it seem like you are already being helped, and as you've noticed, you were overlooked because of it.

Where was the infection found? It may have been prevented..

Please update MBAM, run a Quick Scan, and post its log.

Next, download DDS by sUBs and save it to your Desktop.

Double-click on the DDS icon and let the scan run. When it has run two logs will be produced, please post only DDS.txt directly into your reply.
