Elise (or whomever... but Elise seemed to know what was going on with "Ralph55" regarding this problem):

Sometimes, Google Chrome doesn't display various pictures (which may or may not rely on Java, I don't know).

To date:

1. I've uninstalled/reinstalled the latest Java and uninstalled/reinstalled Chrome. Whatever I've done, Chrome is displaying things properly again.

2. I've uninstalled/reinstalled McAfee.

3. My MalwareBytes is detecting the "PUM" registry entries. I have run the program in safe mode as well, and it still finds the "PUM" entries.

4. I've Googled the Hell out of the "PUM" registry entries and found a thread with Elise025 helping Ralph55.

5. I've downloaded/run DDS and the following are the results of the scan. (Per the instructions, I'm only posting the DDS.txt and will provide the zipped attach.txt if requested.)

DDS.txt:

Hello and Welcome to the forum.

Looks like you're running 2 anti-virus and 2 Firewall programs.

AV: Microsoft Security Essentials *Enabled/Updated* {EDB4FA23-53B8-4AFA-8C5D-99752CCA7095}

AV: McAfee Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware *Disabled/Updated* {84B5EE75-6421-4CDE-A33A-DD43BA9FAD83}

FW: McAfee Firewall *Enabled*

FW: ZoneAlarm Firewall *Enabled*

Never install more than one Antivirus and Firewall! Rather than giving you extra protection, it will decrease the reliability of it seriously!

The reason for this is that if both products have their automatic (Real-Time) protection switched on, your system may lock up due to both software products attempting to access the same file at the same time.

Also because more than one Antivirus and Firewall installed are not compatible with each other, it can cause system performance problems and a serious system slowdown.

Please do not delete anything unless instructed to.

1.Click Start > Settings > Control Panel.

2.Next, open Add/Remove Programs and remove either:

Microsoft Security Essentials

McAfee Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware

McAfee Firewall

ZoneAlarm Firewall

PUM is:

potentially unwanted malware

With MBAM you can turn that warning off in the Settings > Scanner Settings.

After the above, reboot and let me know how it's running.
