Hello,

My computer currently has some maleware on it.

I have malewarebytes previously loaded on my desktop and in the past whenever I check for updates and run a full scan of all drives, it usually takes over 2 hours to perform the complete scan.

The maleware currently on the computer is preventing malewarebytes from running. Nothing at all happens when I try to open malewarebytes.

So, I started the computer in safe mode and tried to open malewarebytes. This time malewarebytes opened and I was able to update the database. Malewarebytes detected a dozen or so infected items and deleted them.

But I think the computer is still infected. The scan in safe mode only took half an hour. So I think there were parts of the computer which were not scanned. And when I run the computer in normal mode, the malewarebytes program still will not run. This time instead of doing nothing, it asks me what program I want to open malewarebytes with.

Do you have any advice for what I can do to clean off my computer of maleware?

Thank you for your help

Hi and :welcome:

We need to see some information about what is happening in your machine. Please perform the following scan:

  • Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links. Save it to your desktop.

[*]Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.

[*]A small box will open, with an explaination about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running.

[*]Notepad will open with the results.

[*]Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results.

[*]Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.

Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet.
