My PC got infected by Trojan.FakeAlert while using a non-admin account on my PC. I switched to my Admin account, ran Malwarebytes, choose to delete the GNU.EXE file, and rebooted. I noticed following afterwards:

1. System Restore no longer works from the Admin account. It states that no files were changed. How do I rectify this?

2. I'm not able to do anything on the non-admin account. Clicking any icon brings up a blank command screen. From my research, this trojan hijacks the desktop image and changes the priviledges needed to change it. So I'm assuming the blank command screen is what used to run the web page stating I had malware on my machine. That page no longer shows up but it doesn't seem like I'm viewing the original desktop image since I can't do anyting on the desktop screen. How do I go about changing the desktop back to it's normal behavior since Malwarebytes didn't complete the job of fully removing the malware?

Thanks.

Hi and welcome to Malwarebytes.

Please update MBAM, run a Quick Scan, and post its log.

Next, download DDS by sUBs and save it to your Desktop.

Double-click on the DDS icon and let the scan run. When it has run two logs will be produced, please post only DDS.txt directly into your reply.
