If you scanned with Malwarebytes and items were found, and you quarantined them more than likely you are good to go now. Also if you show no more signs of an infection, this could be by evidence for browser re-directs or popups, then your clean. Anything that is in teh quarantined folder (tab) can stay there if you wish, as it can no longer harm your computer, of course unless you were to restore the items. Removing them from the quarantined is totaly up to you.

If you want to be 100% sure that you are no longer infected, then follow the instructions below....

If you think you are infected, here are the steps needed to get your computer cleaned....

Thank you both for your replies and also for the links, two of which directed me to the same thread. However, given that I am an absolute beginner as far as computers go, I must admit that the instructions are, at the moment, beyond my ken. I have decided therefore to leave the offending item in quarantine, at least until I am a bit more literate in computer use. Thank you once again.
