Rogue Antivirus

Hi. At my last mbam scan, a Rogue Antivirus was picked up and quarantined. Do I just leave it there, or is there something else I should do?

Probably the infection is still there, and to make sure if there is infection or not, and should go to this link and read the instructions. http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=69723

If you scanned with Malwarebytes and items were found, and you quarantined them more than likely you are good to go now. Also if you show no more signs of an infection, this could be by evidence for browser re-directs or popups, then your clean. Anything that is in teh quarantined folder (tab) can stay there if you wish, as it can no longer harm your computer, of course unless you were to restore the items. Removing them from the quarantined is totaly up to you.

If you want to be 100% sure that you are no longer infected, then follow the instructions below....

Thank you both for your replies and also for the links, two of which directed me to the same thread. However, given that I am an absolute beginner as far as computers go, I must admit that the instructions are, at the moment, beyond my ken. I have decided therefore to leave the offending item in quarantine, at least until I am a bit more literate in computer use. Thank you once again.

Please open the log where the scanner put it in the quarantine and update MBAM and run a new Quick Scan and post back both logs. Also let us know if you're seeing anything that makes you think you're still infected.
