Mainard Posted May 18, 2011 ID:430395 Share Posted May 18, 2011 Hello FeverDog, The newest AdAware is an AV you also have CA AV installed. Two Anti-Virus Software installed cause hooking issues. AV's hook into your OS' data management structure and stop to check data as it is passed around. Av's hook fairly aggressively and can sometimes step on each other. I recommend uninstalling one of your Anti-Virus Software. Please let me know if your system is more to your liking. Thank you.
feverdog71 Posted May 18, 2011 Author ID:430409 Share Posted May 18, 2011 Yes, I was going to uninstall Ad-Aware. I had a hunch you would tell me that. However, I only just installed it the other day after the problem had been ongoing for a few weeks. I thought I might be infected and no other scanners were finding anything so I decided to try Ad-Aware. It turned up nothing as well. So, removing it will not fix the problem, I'm afraid. It was there before.

feverdog71 Posted May 24, 2011 Author ID:432828 Share Posted May 24, 2011 It's definitely better. At first it was very responsive, but it seems to have slowed a bit. But I can live with it until I get a new computer unless you have any more suggestions. This one is getting pretty outdated, so it is time I splurged and bought a new one. Mainard Posted May 24, 2011 ID:433032 Share Posted May 24, 2011 I am glad it has been going more smoothly for you. I asked for assistance in finding the potential trouble-makers to your slow down and those are the ones located. Hopefully you get that new fast system soon .If you have any other questions please feel free to ask.Thank you!
