Greetings :)

Are you referring to FileASSASSIN accessible in the More Tools menu of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware or are you referring to the standalone version of FileASSASSIN available on our website?

I ask because they do work differently, and the version built into Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware is far more effective. That being said, if you're having issues with it and it is unable to delete a file that you want it to, then I would recommend either formatting the flash drive (if the drive is infected), or possibly using a tool such as Unlocker to attempt to remove the file.

Also note that FileASSASSIN does not remove folders, only individual files.

If none of the above was helpful, then you may want to get expert help in our malware removal forums with this issue as the expert helpers there can guide you on using more powerful tools to delete the file if they are needed. If you wish to pursue that option, please follow the directions below and in your new topic, explain what it is that you're trying to do:

Please read and follow the directions here, skipping any steps you are unable to complete. Then create a NEW topic here.

One of the expert helpers there will give you one on one assistance when one becomes available.

Please note that it may take 48 hours or more for you to receive a response in the malware removal forum, as it is often busy at times. Please do not reply to your own post asking for help unless its been more than 48 hours since you originally posted, as this can make it appear as though you are being helped and take longer for you to get help.

If you are unable to do all or any of the steps in the link to the directions above, just post your problem into the forum I gave you a link to anyway and someone will be able to assist you.

Thanks :)
