Been trying to get rid of this d**n thing and only partially successful. RegScan helped me find some entries (which I removed), and advanced search clued me to the folder under Mozilla ... /extensions

It still took Unlocker to get rid of a .jar file there, but the was then able to delete the whole QuickStores file.

But, I STILL seem to have traces of it. It still shows up in the FF add-ons.

This thing seems fairly new as I can't find much info by googling "remove Quickstores toolbar."

Any thoughts?

Anyone.....Anyone?.......Class?......

To reply to myself here, first off, pretty sure I put this in the wrong spot. Second, it would seem that what I did actually DID work. I just needed to do a reboot.

Messy, but I was also able to get another unwanted toolbar off at the same time. Well worth the experience it seems.

Well glad you got it working and removed.... should you need more help with removal, you can follow my instructions above....

I did go through your list and it IS handy, but really not for these odd 'toolbars' that glom onto your system and may be hard to categorize as malware...ickyware perhaps. The FileServe toolbar that I was able to get rid of during this mess was my own fault. The QuickStores thing...I am not sure of where it came from so I don't want to point fingers. Have an idea, but could be way wrong.

Why does Mozilla let these things in, which have NO way of uninstalling (at least via the add-ons)??

Inquiring minds wanna know

[bTW, I kinda like FileServe to d/l from, but that toolbar thing's gotta go!]
