I am a malwarebytes affiliate, and a long time user of both the free and paid versions. I would love to see mbam separate out their IP blocker, and sell it on its own. The reason? Many of my clients have a site wide security solution, such as Trend, Bitdefender, or Kaspersky. They like, and want to keep these products. If they could buy a $5.00 (US) plugin that would run alongside their browser, etc, and block the bad IP's, I would sell it like crazy.

Why not simply switch to the paid version of mbam? Well, as great a product as it is, it doesn't catch everything, but the IP blocker is its silver bullet against websites infected with rogue installers. While I post this comment I am sitting at a business cleaning a rogue installer that has infected yet another of their machines. I want to see this type of website based infected nipped in the bud, and mbam seems to be the only antiviral company with a clue. Stopping the machine from even being able to load the website effectively eliminates the ability of that site to get infected. Simple. This solution could save companies such as the one I am working at today thousands of dollars a year, and billions the world over.

Just a thought, but I would happily pay the five dollars to protect every one of my machines, and I believe that bundles of 5, 10, 25 and more would sell nicely as well. Thanks,

Paul.

Greetings and thanks for the suggestion :)

I don't know if the IP blocker will ever be marketed as a separate product, however, do keep in mind that we do not market Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware as an antivirus software replacement. It is a complementary product designed to catch the threats missed by most antivirus software and is designed to run in realtime side by side with a user's active antivirus protection.
