Hi, first posting.

Long-time user of MBAM, just upgraded to PRO.

The realtime protection doesn't work, as far as IP block concerns.

For the realtime protection(without IP block) I can't really tell.

I have all signs that it's working; the 2 processes mbamservice and mbamgui are running,

and the tray icon is red. I tested the IP block in this forum, but no joy.

Right-clicking tray icon shows enable protection and website blocking checked as well as start with windows.

I have so far followed these steps from the Forum:

---------------------------------

If none of that explains or fixes the issue then please do the following to see if it corrects it:

Windows XP:

* Click on Start and select Control Panel

* Open Add/Remove Programs

* Uninstall Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

* Restart your computer very important

* Download and run mbam-clean.exe from here

* It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so very important

* After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here

o Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent via email if using the Pro version

o Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.

Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the Pro version. Now setup any file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications. You may use the guides posted in the FAQ's here or ask and we'll explain how to do it.

Can Avast' Webshield be a culprit or what else?

Hi,

What happens when you try to access iptest.malwarebytes.org?

Hi,

This is what I get:

-----

IP Protection Test

If you are able to reach this page it means that IP protection is disabled on your machine.

Hi,

I am consulting with my colleagues and will be back with you as soon as possible.

Hi again,

To add that after I push a manual update, iptest.malwarebytes.org will give a blocking,

but going there later on still no joy.

216.245.195.237 is not the IP mentioned in the IP-test thread here, but I see that

it belongs to malwarebyes so I assume it is a correct one.

< Here I am performing a manual update>

Hi,

How soon after the update does the IP protection stop working?

Hi again,

Not very long after an update I'm afraid..

I am on dial-up and I manually updated and ran the test

ok, got a new IP address and the test stopped working.

I then ran a manual update again which of course said up to date.

But after that the IP protection was still not functioning.
