AV2009 or WinWeb Security 2008

Recommended Posts

I am familiar with Malware Bytes and have it installed on my machine.

I installed it about a month ago to remove "AVPro2009."

I also have installed Spyboy, Windows Defender, Adaware, and HiJack This.

I have recently been infected with another Spyware/Malware which I believe to be "WinWeb Security 2008." Somehow I have managed to remove enough files to prevent it from being a nuisance.

But there is still a problem and I haven't been able to find any solutions to this yet - Malware Bytes and Spybot will not run. Uninstallations freeze. The installation executable will not run. And Google searches for the Malware Byte's website and other anti-malware websites are redirected to AV2009 and other malware sites.

Clearly these people are now designing their programs to shut you down.

Any ideas?

Greetings zulukilo, and welcome to the forum. Please follow AdvancedSetup's instructions here: http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.p...amp;#entry35969 then read the instructions here: http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=2936 and post your logs in a new topic here: http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showforum=7

Please be sure not to install any software or use any removal/scanning tools exept those that you are instructed to by the expert who will be assisting you as doing so can make their job much more difficult. I hope I was helpful. Good luck and safe surfing.

Yes, along with the other logs referred to in this link: http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=2936 But don't post them here, create a new topic in the forum here: http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showforum=7 That way one of the malware removal experts in there can take a look at your logs and walk you step by step through the cleanup process. Just run the scans that the first thread tells you to along with any others the expert who will be assisting you tells you to. Don't install or uninstall anything else as it could possibly make cleaning your PC more difficult.

I got winweb security on the computer, this is how I got rid of it.

First of all there was no winweb exe file, it was called 394999423 exe. but removing it did not rid me of winweb.

I used system restore and went back 2 days. Thanks to AVG FREE adding a few restore points without me knowing. (MANY THANKS AVG.) I have never run System Restore, hence the formatting the drive a lot in the past.

Next I went to: Accessories/system tools/disk cleanup and removed EVERYTHING (AND I DO MEAN EVERYTHING) but I did NOT remove any RESTORE points.

I have had no problems since.

Always remove (DELETE) all web pages you visited when you closing web.

I would have formatted my drive by now if I had just a few of the problems others have been having with winweb.

I do not allow a computer to control my life. I certainly don't worry about the many viruses I have picked up over the years.

Best of luck.
