AVG found GADCOM.exe virus and I've been researching online and everything is pointing to Malwarebytes as a resolution.

I downloaded malwarebytes onto a thumb drive but computer is not recognizing the USB port. How can i run the setup program. And what else should I be doing?

The computer is churning and finally it just freezes. Most times it will let Windows load.

I am running XP on a pc.

Thanks,

kat

Hello and welcome to Malwarebytes' Kat. Were you having any issues with your USB ports before the infection? If you can get online you could try downloading Malwarebytes' from one of the following sites to see if you can get through to them on the infected PC:

http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-...&tag=button

http://www.majorgeeks.com/Malwarebytes_Ant...ware_d5756.html

http://projects.securitywonks.net/projects...ls.php?file=158

See if you are able to download and run it on the infected PC. Please let me know how it goes.
