I am going to have you create a new restore point and then the popups from Avira should stop.

  1. Disable and Enable System Restore. - Set a New Restore Point to prevent possible reinfection from an old one. Some of the malware you picked up could have been saved in System Restore. Since System Restore is a protected directory, your tools can not access it to delete these bad files which sometimes can reinfect your system. Setting a new restore point AFTER cleaning your system will help prevent this and enable your computer to "roll-back" to a clean working state.
The easiest and safest way to do this is:
    • Go to Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools and click "System Restore".
    • Choose the radio button marked "Create a Restore Point" on the first screen then click "Next". Give the R.P. a name then click "Create". The new point will be stamped with the current date and time. Keep a log of this so you can find it easily should you need to use System Restore.
    • Then go to Start > Run and type: Cleanmgr
    • Click "OK".
    • Click the "More Options" Tab.
    • Click "Clean Up" in the System Restore section to remove all previous restore points except the newly created one.

Ok i have a few questions. Please try to answer all of them.

1) I think you missed this question but i asked how do i clean out the DR WEb Cureit quarintine?

2) The reason i ask this is because whenever i do system restore clean up thing, it ends up conflicting with avira and comodo. Comodo then detects a virus in the quarintine (which i think, not sure but i think is in the web cureit quarintine), i then click on quarintine on the comodo antivirus, it quarintines it, i delete it from the quarintine when i quarintined it... and then i tired the clean up again but it came up with the same thing again...

3) So any help?

4) Can i buy anything at this stage, cus i do need to and i scanned with malwarebytes full and no malwares or anything... just this annoying thing

5) You missed this question i think too. The avira, not now but it did yesterday or day before, kept on conflicting with comodo antivirus saying there was a virus in the temp quarintine thing of comodo. When i looked in there, there was nothing in there... so im confused about this.

Thanks.

Hi Otherguyx,

Sorry for the delay.

1) I think you missed this question but i asked how do i clean out the DR WEb Cureit quarintine?

To remove the quarantined files from Dr.Web, please navigate to %USERPROFILE%\DoctorWeb\Quarantine\ and you can delete the files in that folder.

5) You missed this question i think too. The avira, not now but it did yesterday or day before, kept on conflicting with comodo antivirus saying there was a virus in the temp quarintine thing of comodo. When i looked in there, there was nothing in there... so im confused about this.

Can you please post a screenshot when this happens. I want to see what Avira is detecting.

Ok here are the pictures of the antivirus and comodo problems.

I have successfully deleted the quarintined files in the dr cureit web thing quarintine. But i havnt got any time today to clear the system restore, i will do this tomorow morning.

Thanks, glad to hear you were successful with cleaning out the Dr.Web quarantine.

In regards to Avira detecting the files in Comodo, it seems that others have the same issue:

Even though i have cleaned the DR Web cureit antivirus, when i try to clean the system restore, it still keeps conflicting. I will post some pictures so it easier. It did this before too. But here is what it looks like.

Ok so first of all, i do everything you said to do, created a new system restore, went to clean up, during the clean up of the system restore, comodo antivirus detects something. Now i can either disinfect it, delete it completely, or quarintine it? But as soon as the pop up of a virus from the comodo thing comes up, the antivir antivirus pop up comes up.

day2systemrestorething.jpg

Ok so now i go to see whats happening, it says its detected 2 things. I go to check, antivir again starts detecting something. This time its in system restore...

day2againsystemrestorething.jpg

So i dont really know whats going on.

Also quick question, how do i solve the problem of antivir conflicting with comodo IS? That thread is unfinished, can you help me on that problem?

Well, it appears that per instructions on the Comodo forums, you may need to completely reinstall both Comodo and Avira.

You can also try setting exclusions for Comodo in Avira and also set exclusions for Avira in Comodo.

Spy sentinel,

1)what about the SPR Hacktools? Is that a big threat? You can see it from the images in my previous post :)

2) And also what do you think of this idea. Im going to uninstall antivir, then install microsoft security essentials, then after installing that i will uninstall comodo antivirus and just keep using the firewall? Is that a better idea. I will then delete all of system restore if i can. What im thinkign of doing is doing another system restore clean up, then when the message from comodo antivirus comes up, im going to delete it completely, then ill create another system restore point, then clean it again and make sure that there are no errors. Then i will uninstall and install microsoft security essentials :) Then i shall do a full scan of the system (i assume it will do so anyway when it installs). If there are any errors then i shall post them here.

3) Is it safe though, to do that procedure of uninsalling etc...?

4) Is it safe to buy online?

and please please please answer these questions because you keep missing out one. Please answer all questions please! ill even lay them out in numbered format so its easy :)

Ok here is what i have done now.

I have done as stated. I cleared system restore, then i cleaned the virus, then i cleaned again, then another pop up from comodo came up and cleaned it again, then i cleaned the system restore one more time, and i think the 3rd time there was no pop up from comodo, so im assuming it all deleted the viruses, and then it just started cleaning for a long time, and thats it.

Also i then uninstalled avira, then comodo, and installed microsoft security essential. I then did a quick scan and there was no virus found. So what do you think?

4) Is it safe to buy online?

1)what about the SPR Hacktools? Is that a big threat? You can see it from the images in my previous post :)

Just now i even scanned system restore area (the system volume information section) and i found no viruses with microsoft security essentials.

I just need the final reply. I really hope my computer is clean after this. I really need to buy something but no word about if it is safe or not whether to do so :S

Glad to see the Avira and Comodo issue is resolved and that you installed Microsoft Security Essentials instead of Avira.

Sir, friend, i believe anyvideoconverter isnt a open candy virus is it?

It is not a virus. What I would be worried about is BitTorrent and uTorrent. Many times, they are the reasons that computers can get infected so I recommend you uninstall them. However if you choose not to, please refrain from using them until we are all done.

1)what about the SPR Hacktools? Is that a big threat? You can see it from the images in my previous post

Any type of hack tools are dangerous and I recommend you delete it.

4) Is it safe to buy online?

After seeing the recent scans from MSE, no please wait to buy online.

Rootkit Unhooker:

  • Please download Rootkit Unhooker and save it to your desktop.
  • Now double-click on RKUnhookerLE.exe to run it.
  • Click the Report tab, then click Scan.
  • Check (Tick) Drivers, Stealth. Uncheck the rest and then click OK.
  • Wait till the scanner has finished and then click File, Save Report.
  • Save the report somewhere where you can find it. Click Close.

Copy the entire contents of the report and paste it in a reply here.

Note** you may get the following warning, just click OK and continue.

"Rootkit Unhooker has detected a parasite inside itself!

It is recommended to remove parasite, okay?"

that is it

btw on the actual program it said nothing detected with a sad face ":(", is that bad?

also you know the SPR hacktool, that was only detected by avira antivirus but it had no motive to actually quarintine it. Comodo antivirus did not detect it when i had that, and neither did MSE.

Also bitorrent and utorrent i dont really use anymore. However ill uninstall them later. Is there any risk in actualy keeping the program but not using it?

So yeah how do i get rid fo the spr hacktool, its not detected by anything else except via avira antivirus :S

edit: why didnt i just edit my previous post and put this in there? -_-, but this post was supposed to be with the last post but i forgot to put it in.

Do you know where the hack tool file is located?

  • Download random's system information tool (RSIT) by random/random from here and save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on RSIT.exe to run RSIT.
  • Click Continue at the disclaimer screen.
  • Once it has finished, two logs will open. Please post the contents of both log.txt (<<will be maximized) and info.txt (<<will be minimized)

its running very good thank you :) Well its running like normal, not slow, not overly fast as my pc isnt that good. I havnt gotten any virus definition alerts from MSE, ive been updating everything alot.

Shall i do another full scan with malwarebytes and MSE?

Have you been through the log, and are there any rootkits active?

Is it safe to buy yet?

Hi Otherguyx,

You're welcome :)

Glad to hear everything is running better.

To make sure that there are no more rootkits on your system, I would like to see one more scan with TDSSKiller.

Please delete the current version of TDSSKiller that you have and then:

Please read carefully and follow these steps.

  • Download TDSSKiller and save it to your Desktop.
  • Extract its contents to your desktop.
  • Once extracted, open the TDSSKiller folder and doubleclick on TDSSKiller.exe to run the application, then on Start Scan.
    TDSSKillermain.png
  • If an infected file is detected, the default action will be Cure, click on Continue.
    TDSSKillerMal-1.png
  • If a suspicious file is detected, the default action will be Skip, click on Continue.
    tdsskiller2.png
  • It may ask you to reboot the computer to complete the process. Click on Reboot Now.
    TDSSKillerCompleted.png
  • If no reboot is require, click on Report. A log file should appear. Please copy and paste the contents of that file here.
  • If a reboot is required, the report can also be found in your root directory, (usually C:\ folder) in the form of "TDSSKiller.[Version]_[Date]_[Time]_log.txt". Please copy and paste the contents of that file here.
