Error loading database (when starting mbam)

I just installed (then reinstalled) MalwareBytes Anti-Malware, but I still receive an error when starting mbam. I receive "error loading database."

Here is what also is happening on my computer.

I am using Vista Home Premium, but I cannot install SP1 (error).

I cannot enter Safe Mode.

My computer is "dog" slow.

Greetings and welcome. Please uninstall and then reboot, and when you go to reinstall again, right click on the Setup file and click Run as administrator. See if that fixes it, if not let us know.
