!st Scan = Virus, 2nd = Nothing?

Recommended Posts

Hey all, new to this forum.

Anyways, something strange happened to me, Anti Malware Bytes detected a virus, and then, I stupidly disregarded it and existed the window. I realized what I did and scanned again. Little did I realize that once I scanned again, the virus wasn't detected. I'm currently confused and I can't tell if I have a virus or if I don't. I scanned with Windows Security Essential and it said my computer was clean as well.

So I have come with two different explanations.

1. The first scan was false call. (not sure how that happens)

2. The virus hide itself?

Any help?

Did you update the database before the second scan? If not then it's likely the malware mutated itself to avoid detection.
