vista freezes, can't do a complete scan on safe mode too

I am really clueless to what has infected my laptop

it all started 6 days ago- vista just won't start in normal mode

I tried to do a system restore on safe mode but the system restore tab is missing. I cannot run avast (what i used to have before) nor delete the program. windows defender is off.

I tried lots of things including combofix but to no avail.

I can't run gmer. it crashes and brings the blue screen.
