BSOD on reboot

i recently used the MBAM to remove the ransom virus . after scan it identified around 9 virus which i quarantined. after restart i am getting blue screen with chkdsk error. the BSOD comes up on safemode as well and the system keeps on rebooting.

system ibm t43

os- windows xp pro sp3

bsod message: something related to virus and suggest to run chkdsk /f/r

0x0000007b (0xBA4D3528 0xC000000E 0x00000000 0x00000000)

please assist. is my hard disk needs to be reformatted. did i loose my data files?
