I have a Dell Studio XPS 9100 computer with Windows 7 Prof, and use the Microsoft Security Essentials Program as my only computer protection. So far, the MSE program has protected my computer without any problems.

However, I am wondering if it would be wise to have the Malwarebytes program installed on my computer, but only use it periodically as a manual scanner. If anyone has or is familiar with this setup, I would appreciate any comments regarding any known conflicts or problems between MSE and Malwarebytes program. Thanks for any help, Sam.

That would be a good combination to run on your computer, however I would recommend the Pro version of Malwarebytes as the real time protection and the website blocking protection that is included in the pro version will help prevent you from getting infected. Without the real time protection of Malwarebytes, together with your anti-virus, you run the risk of getting infected should the malware get past Microsoft Security Essentials.

FireFox, many thanks for your reply. I purchased the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware program in March 2009,the Product name was Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, and purchased for $24.95 through Cleverbridge. I was not aware there was a Pro version of the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware program. I just looked on the Malwarebyte web site and could only find the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware program. Must be slipping in my old age!! Thanks again, Sam.
