i cannot get this thing off my computer. i have been to several sites but nothing seems to work. i cannot open anything. i d/l malwarebytes on another computer and tried to put it on the infected computer but that did not work. i changed the exe file name but that did not work. cannot do a system restore. any help is greatly appreciated.

I recently purchased the Malwarebytes Pro to prevent infections. Today, I got an infection of something called XP Spyware. I am starting to think that I got conned by Malwarebytes into buying worthless protection. Anyway, XP Spyware sounds a lot like the same malware you are battling. I am getting pop-ups for this speyware even in safe mode. Also, malwarebytes won't run. I tired running rootkill, but that didn't help. Please tell me how to get rid of this thing, since your software shouldn't have allowed in on my computer in the first place.

I've never had this kinda of problem since purchasing malwarebytes. Been using since around 1.37 and am a very happy and satisfied user. Always recommend MBAM as a requirement for any existing security.:)

We don't work on Malware removal or diagnostics in the general forums.

Please print out, read and follow the directions here, skipping any steps you are unable to complete. Then post a NEW topic here.
