Hello -

i have seen numerous postings on this malware, but was hesitant following the same removal procedure. I would like to know how to permanently remove it.

This isn't necessarily malware. PUM stands for Potentially Unwanted Modifications. If you disabled Security Center notifications or use an antivirus/internet security program then that maybe monitoring it for you. In these cases it's fine, but if not then follow the directions below.
