Hi there.

A while back I posted regarding this subject. I got help from an expert, Maniac, but stopped at the point of running combofix. My fears of what I'd read about combofix stopped me from going forward. The topic has since been closed due to a lack of feedback, my fault, running the above was not something I wanted to do with a brand new laptop. To get to the point, malwarebytes skips from the first few hundred files whilst scanning to around the 30,000 mark. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing, the problem persists. This all started when I was redirected to a fake virus scan site. This has happened at least twice since. My anti-virus, Norton 360 now as I have removed Mcafee, and superantispyware along with malwarebytes have picked up little, in fact malwarebytes hasn't picked up a thing since. I still hold a hunch that my computer has an infection. Today I came across a topic on these forums that was almost identical although the virus mentioned was system tool 2011. Unfortunately the topic was closed so I couldn't follow the advice I was hoping for. What I have read on this though has prompted me to post again.

If any experts can help with any advice it would be appreciated.

Thanks.
