Hello :)

The easiest method would be to simply set the scheduled scan to run silently from the System account. Then, at your convenience, just open Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, click on the Logs tab and open the log created by your scheduled scan to review the results and verify that nothing was found, and if something was found, run another scan of the same type as your scheduled scan (Quick Scan is the recommended scan to choose) and remove any threats found, otherwise you may actually set the scheduled scan to automatically remove any detected threats, and even automatically reboot if necessary. Keep in mind however, that if you do set it to reboot if necessary, that it will do so without warning, not giving you the chance to save any work, so that option is recommended for scenarios where you have the scan set to run at times when you are not using the computer.

I found where that option is. What is the "System account"? Does that mean it "runs as a service" or what does that mean?

I want it to pop something up if it finds something wrong or show some indication in the System Tray. I would rather leave it set to run as the active window than having to remember to keep checking the logs. Is there a way to have the scans run silently or minimized but still alert me somehow when something is found?

The system account is a hidden user account on every Windows PC. Running a scan in this mode will show no notifications, even when something is detected, so if you wish to be prompted when something is found, you should not use that option.

There is no way to schedule a scan to run minimized unfortunately.

SOLVED: Two ways:

1) Use the /minimized switch on the command line

FInd the Malwarebytes shortcut in the START menu > right-click Properties > Shortcut tab > Change the TARGET to add /minimized after the closing quote.

2) Use the Windows run minimized feature for any application:

FInd the Malwarebytes shortcut in the START menu > right-click Properties > Shortcut tab > Change the RUN option to minimized.

Don't worry, if the scan is automatic (flash scan) it will run minimized

but if you launched it manually, the menu will pop-up as usual to ask what kind of scan you are running (e.g. "quick scan").

Hello and Welcome joeuser....

This topic is quite old dating back to 05 April 2011 - 08:44 AM....

Normally we don't like to reply to topics that are this old. Also Malwarebytes has undergone many changes since 2011 and several new versions. Some of these options may have changed or no longer available.
