I caught this today and can't get rid of it. I have Malware Bytes but it won't let me open it. I had caught System Tool 2011 back in Jaunary and I was able to download and run Malware Bytes by running in safe mode with networking but that isn't working this time because Vista Home Security comes up even when I'm in safe mode and stops me from running MB. I saw in another topic that suggested renaming mbam to iexplore and I tried that but it still didn't work.

There are two other users on the computer and they aren't infected so I went on one of those and I was able to update and run MB but it didn't find anything. I'm guessing I have to run it from the user that's infected. How do I get rid of this?

Welcome to the forum.

Carefully read and follow this Guide.

Make sure you run rkill and then immediately run MBAM as desribed.

Most important....update MBAM before you run it.

Post the logs back here.

-----------------------------

If no luck with that.......

Download DDS by sUBs and post the scan results using Copy / Paste.

1. Double click dds.scr to run the tool.

2. When done, two DDS.txt's will open.

3. Save both reports to your desktop.

4. Please copy and paste the contents of DDS.txt back here.

Let me know....MrC
