I had several infections I successfully removed using mbam - my virus definition files for Mbam were no older than 1 day and all viruses were removed "successfully", according to mbam, upon reboot. Unfortunately, when I went into IE to resume normal internet tasks, I discovered that all virus were NOT removed: Google was redirecting to other random websites. I went through Bleeping Computer help (still seeking assistance there too, just in case) using other rootkit removal software and log generating software and although it did clear that problem up, now my internet connection has been painfully slow to nonexistant. In other words, the network connection is problematic now: When connected to my router, it showed "cable unplugged"; when plugged directly into my modem (broadband), I was able to actually connect to my homepage, but incredibly slow. I downloaded 2 popular tcp fixers (they reset the tcp setting to defaults), I uninstalled the network adapters (they reinstalled upon reboot automatically), but nothing has worked, so far. It goes between no connection (unplugged) to super slow when or if it connects. Unplugging and replugging the cable sometimes makes a difference between "unplugged" and "limited connection" ...BUT... The cable is fine, I tested it. The router is fine, I checked all ports and all my other devices work fine. The net adapter works fine (I believe), the properties check says the device working properly. It only started after I removed whatever infection the rootkit found.

Can anyone offer advice on how to correct this? Does mbam have some aspect to correct this as a virus perhaps? There MUST be some way to correct this without reinstalling Windows!! I'm advanced, so I'm willing to go into the registry and other areas before I go anywhere near reinstalling! Thanks in advance.
