Antivirus 2009 from Trojan(?)

Recommended Posts

ORIGINAL POST:

Hello

I am having a problem with the Antivirus 2009 virus.

OK

It was not installed on my pc, I canceled before the program download began, however a file called freescanner.htm which routes to a viral website which downloads this virus, is on my computer.

It has control over my IE and is forcing me to reroute my webpage...this is what I have done already in attempt to delete this:

Gone into IE and told it is not allowed to go to the viral website, or any related, and deleted the cached pages of the freescanner.htm..

However the question still remains, should I just delete the freescanner.htm file or should i quarantine it with a specific program.

Malwarebytes and SUPERSpywareremover (I think it's called) and Avast and Spyware S & D and McAfee have not deleted this, only AVG has recognized.

Please tell me how to go about deleting this viral link!

NOTE: I was curious, is it possible that Java has allowed this virus on my computer? I need it for ebay but.....if it did allow it than........(I update it regularly) :D

Also, I had tea timer running but i disabled it BEFORE I made my logs....btw. :)

I don't see anything. What problems are you still having?

Randomly, while running IE, my page will all of the sudden change and an annoying pop up to download antivirus 2009 appears, than it will try to navigate me to the site....

Every single time it does this i have exited out...and to prevent it from happening i have blocked all pages related to the program in IE. However, I want to know what is controlling my IE, i noticed a file in my temp called freescanner.htm which I believe causes this bogus...should I just delete it?

Yes, that entry is nothing to worry about.

Download ComboFix from one of the locations below, and save it to your Desktop.

Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts. Please, never rename Combofix unless instructed.

When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log and a HiJackthis log in your next reply

Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall
