XP Windows Security 2011

Hi

A few days ago my laptop was infected with the XP Windows Security 2011 virus.

It constantly comes up with pop ups and will not let me access the internet.

I have no idea about computers so don't know what to do but can't afford for it to go to a specialist.

How can I get rid of the virus?
