Change the name of the installation file to explorer.exe and then try running it on the infected machine. Once that is done, you will need to change the name of C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe to C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\explorer.exe to have the Malwarebytes program run.

Changing the name of the installation file didn't work for me. What finally did work was I downloaded rkill from another PC onto a flashdrive and ran it on the infected PC in safemode. rkill stopped the offending processes and I was able to then run Malwarebytes which located and removed the virus.
