Virus is Blocking Malwarebytes

I'm infected with XP Anti-Spyware 2011. I have Malwarebytes installed on my pc but it won't run. I downloaded it again from another pc onto a flash drive, but I can't seem to install it on the infected pc. Please help!

Change the name of the installation file to explorer.exe and then try running it on the infected machine. Once that is done, you will need to change the name of C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe to C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\explorer.exe to have the Malwarebytes program run.

Changing the name of the installation file didn't work for me. What finally did work was I downloaded rkill from another PC onto a flashdrive and ran it on the infected PC in safemode. rkill stopped the offending processes and I was able to then run Malwarebytes which located and removed the virus.
