I have the blue screen. I have aon older dell Dimension, I think 8250 running XP. The problem MAY be related to a new cordless mouse not being compatible. I think it was very close in time to it trying to load the driver from the little usb stick for the mouse.

I get page fault in non paged area....I don't have it in front of me, but the code for the string of numbers has 000050x....(it's longer, but that's the end part that I remember)

I used discs that came with the system and ran the repair install of XP with no luck. I ran diagnostics where it scanned the memory and hard drive and cache etc and that all worked.

I was hoping that malarebytes or some virus scan could be run from a bootable disk. I cannot even boot into safe mode.

Also, I had virus problems which I thought were cured prior to the cordless mouse install, so it may be a virus. I've read it could be hardware related also, but don't know what to do.

Any suggestions? Also, all I know how to do is change the boot order...it I need C prompt you'll have to explain how to get there...Thanks

Hello and :welcome:

Well in the state the computer is in right now, and with what you tried, you may have no choice but to backup and re-format the computer. I would suggest, since you mentioned you had a virus, that you have the experts take a look at it and see if they can help you recover from the state is in, if there is no hope they will inform you of the steps you need to take (This BSOD could be caused due to the infection)....

If you think you are infected, here are the steps needed to get your computer cleaned....

Please read the following so that you can begin the cleaning process:

You have 3 Options that you can choose from as listed below:
