Hi,

I just installed MWB 1.50.1.3 on my XP SP3 32bit machine (which is 2 weeks into a clean install and is, I believe, virus / malware free) After the install it checked for updates & downloaded 6.16mb of data. Then it went back into the install routine again, which i thought very strange, but I let it and after it finished I opened the GUI and looked at the Settings although I don't believe I changed any at that point.

Then, as requested, I rebooted. After the reboot I clicked on the shortcut provided by the installer. Got a dialog window saying that my database was out of date, asking for permission to download updates. Granted. It then re-download the same 6.16mb of updates again and closed it's window. As there was no MBW widow showing I clicked on the shortcut to restart. Got a popup saying that MWB was already running. But there was no visible window or an icon on the Taskbar or in the Tray. So I went into the MWB folder and clicked on "mbamgui.exe" and that did nothing. Next I went to TaskMgr & killed MWB and restarted it w/ the shortcut. No window. No icon on Taskbar or in Tray.

My system is normal except that all of my non-M$ apps are installed on the F: partition as well as my %appdata% folder so xcept for it's 2 drivers in the C:\Win\sys32 folder everything is on the F: partition. Perhaps it's lost?

Any ideas?

Do you have the paid Pro version ? , if not there will only be a desktop Icon and no Taskbar / tray icon -

After the install it checked for updates & downloaded 6.16mb of data.

As the data base is updated between 4 and 8 times per day (on average) you may have loaded as there was a new updated database being installed -

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.50.1.1100 (Updated 24/03/11 10:24:54 PM) is the current data base, not 1.50.1.3 as you mention -
