Malwarebytes scan too long !

Hi !

Excuse me for my approximate English.

I run Vista SP1 and since I reinstalled Malwarebytes (ver 1.30), I noticed Malwarebytes full scan too long (more than 2 hours ! and I was forced to suspend scan whenever)

Hello and welcome. If you have installed and/or uninstalled several programs since you had the last version of Malwarebytes' on your computer it could be due to the size of the winsxs folder in C:\Windows\winsxs because the size of that folder increases over time as programs are added and removed in Vista. But really, with Malwarebytes' there is no reason to do a full scan because it is designed to detect all infections that it has in the definitions using the quick scan.

I think it's due to programs I uninstalled, because I have now less programs than before. Yes I really pointed out that the scan slows down at Winsxs level...

The MBAM quick scan option will catch every bit of live malware that the full scan will detect and 99% of the traces .

I develop the definitions for MBAM and have never needed to use the full scan to test them out .
