Recommended Posts

I am getting the following error when attempting to update my antimalware program...PROGRAM_ERROR_UPDATING (12002, 0, WinHttpQueryDataAvailable)

I am running Windows 7 and using Avast 5.1 Antivirus.

I tried updating and made the mistake of not restarting computer. I have since tried installing new updated program and get the same results.

Thank you for your time and responses to this matter.

Well I thought I had it figured out and I was wrong. Still need assistance with this issue. Here is my information:

What Windows OS (XP, Vista, 7)?

Windows 7 Home Edition. I have excluded MBAM programs from the firewall but can not exclude the dll files.

What Service Pack for the OS?

I would think the 1st and only one.

What version of MBAM (current is 1.50.1.1100)?

The Latest

What brand and version (e.g. Free or Paid, major version number) of anti-virus, anti-malware and/or firewall software do you have?

Avast Free 6.0.1094

Do you use a router to connect to the internet?

No

Are you behind an institutional firewall or do you use a proxy server to connect to the internet?

No, I have to use Dial Up

Are you showing any signs of infection?

No

Have your MBAM scans turned up with anything?

No

I would like to update this as I enjoy using this program alot. Any help will be much appreciated.

I have already done these exclusions for Avast. Sorry I didnt mention that earlier. I have even downloaded the updates and tried to manually install. That worked as I went from 110 days overdue on updates to only 10 days overdue.

You can go to your Control Panel and then Click on Windows Firewall, on the window that pops up it will tell you if your firewall is on or not. If you are using the windows firewall see below....

Do you have your firewall set up to allow for MBAM to update through it?

Please allow mbam.exe and mbamservices.exe.

Please let me know if this helps.
