Antivirus 2009

Recommended Posts

My parents' computer was infected with the Antivirus 2009 program. Internet Explorer is now the only browser that works, and software programs such as Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. I downloaded Malwarebytes to my laptop and copied it to their computer via flash drive but I could not update the definitions. I ran it twice.

Below is my second log:

I tried to run the Panda ActiveScan 2.0, but it didn't want to update. After some playing around, I got it to run, but it did not take very long at all. Below is the log:

I meant to say that software programs such as Malwarebytes are unable to download updates and therefore are less effective. Having run it and SpyBot, I am now able to access some websites in Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome but not most, and IE still looks suspect (the search results do not display a web address when moused over). Is there any way I can download an updates file from a working computer and run it manually on the infected computer?
