How do you get the latest updates manually (for a UBS drive)

Recommended Posts

How can I fully update the app from a thumb drive? I have the app on the thumb drive. And there's a link on this page to download updates... but as of right now, when the program will update from inside the program to update 1414, this link is only 1410.

(scroll to the bottom and follow the link for the database update:

Latest Database

Download from GT500.org

when a machine is so messed up that I can't / don't want to get it on the internet for the most recent update, I'd like to be able to update it with a thumb drive.

thank you!

how do I delete this entire thread!?

It's indeed possible to copy the latest definitions file to a USB stick or cd-r for transport to more computers without an internet connection. I routinely do this myself.

cd "Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware"

Inside is the rules.ref file. Copy it and the latest installer from the site to a usb stick. Install to the target PC as you normally would. Then copy the rules.ref file from USB stick to above location, overwriting the one already present.

Yeah, I have a batch file that does exactly that (ie installs MBAM silently, copies the rules.ref file to that directory, then starts MBAM and runs a quick scan).
