For the first time since 1997, the Syfy channel will be Stargate free. According to ComingSoon, Syfy will end the action-adventure series, Stargate Universe, in the spring of 2011 after airing the final ten episodes of its second season. While no official reason has been given, low ratings are thought to be the deciding factor.

Oh... I agree Steve. I cannot believe the number of series shows that I start watching only to find them canceled same season or soon thereafter yet other annoying shows go on.

I was really getting into RUBICON (http://en.wikipedia....icon_(TV_series)) when it just went *poof*.. I even liked James Woods in SHARK *poof* (http://en.wikipedia....hark_(TV_series)) and I don't really like James Woods all that well.

At least CASTLE (starring Firefly's captain), HARRY'S LAW, AD MEN, LEVERAGE, WHITE COLLAR, SOUTHLAND, CHICAGO CODE and FAIRLY LEGAL are still in the mix; not too sure about ROYAL PAINS; good first season; season 2 not-so-much.. And SANCTUARY is onto season 3 (4?) NCIS:LA is nowhere near as good as the original NCIS, for sure.. Altho' I do like that short lady "Heddy".. She played a war photographer in some movie oh so long ago; she's a good actress when she has a decent part.

I think these shows have run their course. They keep coming out with new ones with different cast and I think the population is getting bored of em.(Star Trek, Star Gate whatever)

No doubt this particular series has probably run it's course but that doesn't speak of the many other shows that are canceled so quickly that aren't even in the SciFi category. Then you have the mind numbing "reality" TV shows where they put people together and pay them to be annoying and those type of shows are all over the tube and just keep going on and on - as though these people really act and talk like that to total strangers. It's like watching wrestling and claiming it's real too.

Well, i have been a prospector and placer miner for a great many years so seeing the absolutely wrong, environmentally bad and utter stupidity that the Discovery channel cranked out in the "Goldrush Alaska" series left me fuming!

I can't believe those dummies dumped their life's savings ($$250,000+) into mining and didn't do a bit of research.. Com'on; LAST show of the season is when they discover they've been doing it ALL WRONG???

Might as well watch Senior and Junior fight it out on AMERICAN CHOPPER every week.. :)

Aw geez...... Only watched it once, i don't do disfunctional parents! I hope "Senior" is just playing for the camera but i doubt it. I went dark and wanted to take a baseball bat to him.

If one digs a bit it seems the Hoffmans are not as broke as they would like us to believe.

Next season they supposedly go to the Yukon. Just try cutting channels into rivers, indiscriminate logging for cabins, and unnecessarily threaten wildlife there and they will get run off pronto, not to mention paying the wages of a bunch of mining inspectors and fish cops :P

I forgot to mention RAISING THE BAR and one of the network's VERY good series, THE GOOD WIFE. :unsure:

DETROIT 187 was another one..

I can't stand all the reality shows, talk shows, and most of what is supposed to be comedy shows.

You mean they aren't going to back to the same claim they finally found their "glory hole" on? As you might notice, I missed the last show that explained next season's stupidity.

This new way the messages get lined up I wind up missing half the replies to stuff I'm discussing.. :unsure:

If they were broke at the end of the season, where are they coming up with $$$ for new equipment, supplies and such. (Oh.. yeah.. Let's not forget to add in the cost of a "hitman" for taking out the white-bearded old geezer that knows everything about everything. :))

Sure wish I was a lot younger.. and a lot more flush ($$$) Wayne.. I'd love to spend a few weeks with you up in BC doing a little camping and panning for gold. :)

Discovery is making a huge profit on this show, their share numbers are sky high so they can afford to pay a few hundred thou easy.

Wish you could come up and move some rocks with me Steve! We could find some more of this........ :)

The bottle that gold is in may be worth as much as the gold, found under the floor of a 100+ year old cabin in the Yukon and given to my wife by a 93 year old prospector friend of mine, that was 15 years ago.

That gold came from a couple days panning by my wife whilst i moved boulders, (grunt moan whine) that's how i got so old :)
