Freezing Issues - AVG and MAlware

Recommended Posts

I have AVG 2011 (free version) and installed Malware. I was ok until I did a scan and removed the items. Now when I start my computer it starts up and when I try to run any program it freezes.

I tried the fix in the FAQ issues, but when I try to adjust my AVG my computer freezes and I cannot do anything. My mouse will move, but nothing runs when I double click.

Any assistance out there?

It sounds like a malware problem .

Follow the instructions here , boot in Safe Mode with Networking.

Open Malwarebytes' AM interface , click on Logs and find the latest scan log . Open it .

Now log in back to the forum and post your log here so that we see what was removed - just to have idea .

You might need malware removal help.

You might need malware removal help.

Additionally , download exeHelper to your Desktop: http://www.raktor.net/exeHelper/exeHelper.com

Double-click on exeHelper.com to run the fix.

A black window should pop up, press any key to close once the fix is completed.

Post the contents of exehelperlog.txt (Will be created in the directory where you ran exeHelper.com - example on the Desktop , and should open at the end of the scan) . Note: If the window shows a message that says "Error deleting file", please re-run the program before posting a log - and post the two logs together (they will both be in the one file - on the Desktop).

Reboot in Normal mode and report back your findings

I posted 2 logs. one from yesterday and one from today. The one from yesterday is when I removed the infected files.
