Adobe Reader

I have a program called pdf viewer and I wanted to get Adobe so that I may play some of the games that are out there. Everytime I try to download it - it will say successfully installed but then my computer has ALOT of issues. My Firefox will freeze up all the time or it won't let me on at all I have had to run in safe mode with networking until I get it uninstalled and then it's fine. What am I doing wrong during installation or is it not really compatible with my Vista? I'm so clueless :)

I'm not aware of any game that plays with Adobe Reader. That is for viewing PDF documents. Perhaps you mean Adobe Flash Player.

It could be you have a corrupted install, it could be your system is infected. Would need more information to even attempt to see what's going on.

I may not have time to assist you but others may be able to come along and review and assist you. I would suggest at least running the following which may help show what's going on.

Download
DDS
and save it to your desktop

Disable any script blocker if your Anti-Virus/Anti-Malware has it.

Once downloaded you can disconnect from the Internet and disable your Ant-Virus temporarily if needed.

Then double click
dds.scr
to run the tool.

When done, the
DDS.txt
will open.

Click Yes at the next prompt for Optional Scan.

When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:

  1. DDS.txt

  2. Attach.txt

  • Save both reports to your desktop

  • Please include the following logs in your next reply:
    DDS.txt
    and
    Attach.txt

@ bellabear:

As AdvancedSetup explained, there are many types of software from Adobe, and he is right -- it is probably Adobe Flash Player that you need for your FB game.

Please follow his advice to run the DDS program, so he'll have the logs to assist you to see if your Flash Player for FF or IE needs to be installed or updated.

If you need help with that upgrade or installation, you may wish to have a look at this thread:

http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=74956

There are step-by-step instructions there for how to do this.

It's not hard. :)

Hope this helps and Thanks, AdvancedSetup, for your indulgence in posting on this thread,
