HiJackThis - Browsers Crashing on New Page

Updated the Trend Micro Virus software and ran a scan. The only thing if found was a DoubleClick Cookie.

Though my brother did have trouble shutting down his computer. It seemed to stall in the Shutdown process, though that could be unrelated.

The computer seems fast and stable now. So, unless you have any other suggestions, I think we can consider this a problem SOLVED.

Last steps:

Step 1

Go to Start => Run... and copy & paste next command in the field:

ComboFix /uninstall

Then hit Enter button.

This procedure will do the following:

  • Uninstall ComboFix
  • Delete its related folders and files
  • Reset your clock settings
  • Hide file extensions
  • Hide the system/hidden files
  • Resets System Restore again

Note: Make sure there's a space between ComboFix and /uninstall

Step 2

Please manually delete DDS and TDSSKiller.

Step 3

Please uninstall ESET Online Scanner and HiJackThis.
