AVG Identity Protection malware infection

Recommended Posts

I clicked on a link in Google and was instantly infected by something called AVG Identity Protection. I have not rebooted and will not until I can remove this. I installed and updated Malwarebytes but Malwarebytes didn't find any infection. Can someone tell me what to do?

Additional info:

The window which does not look like AVG says "AVG Identity Protection" Malware detected and shows

File name: claughingOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\PHIL\LOCAL SETTINGS\TEMP\E6ZJ8T12.EXE.PART

Threat name: Win21/Heur.

Is this AVG? It has a light gray bar at the top and red bar underneath. It has a bogus looking shield in the left of the red bar that is white with gray border and says ID.

Can someone tell me what to do?

I am using Windows version: XP SP2
