Trojan.FakeAlert - cannot delete

Recommended Posts

When I do a scan the following is reported:

Registry Keys Infected:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\VSPlugin (Trojan.FakeAlert) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.

Reported as being deleted but after a reboot when I do another scan the same thing is reported. It must be recreating itself????

How can I get rid of this or is it not a real problem?

Thanks

I would post in the Malwarebytes HijackThis forum if I were you. They will help you eliminate this and also make sure that there aren't any other nasties on your system. Be sure to follow all of the Mods instructions and don't run any scanners/tools/fixes unless they specifically instruct you to do so. Good luck and safe surfing.
