URGENT! Intel Express Installer!

Recommended Posts

I just bought new desktop computer Intel i3 3.06 Ghz with Intel DH55Pj MOBO.

I just noticed that every i insert the Intel Express Installer DVD it creates a folder c:\Tempie4. Even without installing anything

And the most frustrating part is that inside Tempie4 folder has 3.tmp, 6.tmp, a.tmp.

If i google it this #.tmp is malware.

Why Intel DVD installer creates this folder immediately after inserting it to dvdrom?

Can i leave the folder and the .tmp file as is? Will it do no harm?

Or

It is safe to delete all?

Added info.

If i dont insert the Intel DVD it doesn't create Tempie4 folder which has inside of 3.tmp, 6.tmp, etc....

Urgent of help!

I disable panda usb vaccine and let the autorun play on my ASUS mobo.

My DVD drive is in sandbox mode.

The XPSP3 with ASUS mobo is updated on Avast and MBAM.

Tempie4 folder didnt appear....

On curiosity I use the search button and write .tmp and found that on my sandbox folder it has b.tmp!

It means that the Intel Express Installer is creating .tmp file.

I uploaded the file on VT and appears to be clean.

I just finish again scan with MBAM and Avast now scanned on the SYSTEM no malware found.

@ron, what if ill just press and hold SHIFT keys to disable autorun..

But!

I will use the dvd driver update it via Device Manager on my new MOBO? is it safe?

Or i'll just download from intel site on all the drivers?

Not really sure what CD you have there but if it came with the Motherboard then it should be the right one and hopefully it came with at least a brief installation manual on when and how to install certain drivers when installing Windows.

As you seem to be okay now I'll probably back off of this thread now but if you do need further help please go ahead and post back as there are a few other good techs here that can help you out.

Take care

Once you have installed windows and have all drivers installed, you should not have to use the CD any longer. I never use those disks, I always get the latest drivers from the manufactures web site.

Those CD also come with other Misc. Free software and games that in my opionion are just crapware. Its like advertising for them.
