What version of Windows are you running and what Service Pack level?

Is the system 32 BIT or 64 BIT?

Did you go to the UPDATE tab and update the program ?

Does MBAM work correctly on the main drive ?

Were you running a Quick Scan or a Full Scan ?

I am running 32 bit, Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3. I have updated and was running a full scan. It works fine on the main drive. It was working fine on the portable (f) drive up to a point. If I hit ok on the error message, it scans about 5 more files, then the error again. I attached a screen shot. The files names appears corrupt. Any suggestions?

Try running a DISK CHECK on the Portable drive.

Click on START - RUN and type in CMD and hit OK

That will put you in a DOS box. From there type this and hit the Enter Key

CHKDSK F: /F

Where F: is the letter of the portable drive. IF your portable drive is on another letter then substitute the command with the correct drive letter.

Did this. Got this:...windows is verifying files and folders...

unrecoverable error in folder \1zenmusic.

Convert folder to file (y/n)?

That folder was not the folder being scanned at the time of the error; however, when viewing that folder plus two others through explorer the subfolders and files are weird.

All symbols, boxes, letters, and random characters.

Will choosing yes to convert make a difference? That particular folder had about 20 subfolders with 2100 files (mp3). (10 Gigs)

look at the attachment: I chose no for each until the end. Let me know if you think I can save any of the files. Thanks for all your time.
