File Is Not Been Deleted - After Scan

I ran a scan on a laptop and found a Trojan. MB said the virus has been quarantined and deleted but it is still in the folder. How can I remove this file? File ASSASSIN can't remove it and I have tried every thing to get rid of it to no avail.

I think what this Trojan is doing is attaching itself to Explorer, IE, Firefox and possibly others and when I click on a web link it sends the user to other sites. I can only access the correct site by typing the address direct in the address bar.

I think this virus also install itself as a device, I have included the messages I get from VISTA when I try to delete the file.

It is also preventing me from running windows updates.

I ran Hijack This twice and I have included the reports.

OS: Vista Home Premium SP2

1) When I try to delete the file (in any vista mode (even in hard administrator mode) tried it all)

A device attached to the system is not functioning.

2) When I check the file properties -

The requested security information is either unavailable or can't be read.

Now the first mesage is the one I can't get I don't know which device is using this file or which device installed it. This device does not exist.

I'm little confused with these two log files from HiJackThis. Please post a new fresh then get an uninstall list from HijackThis:

  • Open HijackThis, click Config, click Misc Tools
  • Click Open Uninstall Manager
  • Click Save List (generates uninstall_list.txt)
  • Click Save, copy and paste the results in your next post.
