sreilly24590 Posted January 1, 2011 ID:368455 Share Posted January 1, 2011 My first issue was a message that said mbamcore stopped unexpectedly so I downloaded the latest version (1.50.1.1100) uninstalled the previous and installed the new download. Now I get a message saying "(Create Service) Failed to perform desired action Error Code: 1072" I found that that error code states that "ERROR_SERVICE_MARKED_FOR_DELETE 1072 (0x430)....The specified service has been marked for deletion." I'm at a loss as to what to do at this point. It happens when I try to check the box for "Enable Protection Module".Any suggestions? Thanks,Steve
Mainard Posted January 3, 2011 ID:369234 Share Posted January 3, 2011 Hello sreilly24590,This occurs when you uninstall MBAM and do not restart your system. After you uninstall MBAM restart your computer then install MBAM.Here is how to do a clean re-install of MBAM:If you already have a copy of the installer for Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, delete it, you need to download a fresh copy of the latest version:Click on Start and select Control PanelOpen Add/Remove ProgramsUninstall Malwarebytes' Anti-MalwareRestart your computer very importantDownload and run mbam-clean.exe from here It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so very importantAfter the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from hereNote: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent via email if using the Pro versionLaunch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the Pro version. Now setup any file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications. You may use the guides posted in the FAQ's here or ask and we'll explain how to do it.Thank you very much!
sreilly24590 Posted January 3, 2011 Author ID:369287 Share Posted January 3, 2011 I wasn't expecting a fast reply from support regarding this problem due to the holidays so I posted here as well. Turns out support replied on New Years Day with the identical response and all appears well for now. Thanks for the reply and accurate information.Steve
