Antivirus Scan

Recommended Posts

I am infected with "Antivirus Scan", which is stopping me from opening anything to get rid of it. I have Malwarebytes, but I get the error message "Windows Security Alert" or "Security Warning" "Application cannot be executed. the file mbam.exe is infected. Do you want to activate your antivirus software now?"

I can't seem to get around these messages, and can open Firefox and My Computer, I can remove some, but not all programs in add/remove. The ones I can't remove are ones I don't recognise. One is called "cleaner 5 EZ", I don't think I've seen this before, but I could be wrong.

I can't Google with out getting my results hijacked, and Internet Explorer periodically opens the website "porno.org".

I also get a build up of icons in my tool bar which disappear when I put my cursor over them.

This is all the infomation I have... Is there anything I can do?

Thank you for any help you can give me.

DO NOT use any TOOLS such as Combofix or HijackThis fixes without supervision.

Doing so could make your pc inoperatible and could require a full reinstall of your OS, losing all your programs and data.

Vista and Windows 7 users:

1. These tools MUST be run from the executable. (.exe) every time you run them

2. With Admin Rights (Right click, choose "Run as Administrator")

Stay with this topic until I give you the all clean post.
