"Security Shield" infection...

Recommended Posts

My brand new Dell desktop came with Windows 7 and Windows Live Mail.

Hello, since yesterday I'm trying to get rid of "Security Shield", an intolerable and obnoxious infection and it's still here. I went to download the anti-malwarebytes program and I see it download and saved...but I don't see it in my Panel Control or Programs or anywhere else.

Kindly let me know where I can go to see that's been saved so i can have it scan my computer and rid of this thing? I searched this forum for this bug but didnt find it.

Thanks ever so much! adela

P.S. I already had 3 crashes and from time to time, among many other things, this bug makes my email disappear. I do hope I can read your answer before it does something...

Thanks WG. Is bleepingcomputer.com part of this website? When I clicked on one of the links you sent me it took me there asking to register...I saw the enormously long "treatise" they asked to print and follow, and I'm sorry I can't understand much of that. I remember when I had my old computer I had another similarly dangerous bug or spy and malwarebytes.com helped me directly to rid of it.

I dont know what to do, I thought I could just have malwarebytes scan my computer, and though I downloaded it...I can't have it scan. When I downloaded and saved it, it goes to a page called "Downloads" or something (the only way I can get to that page is by saving any download) and when I click on it in the hopes it will scan my computer, nothing happens.

Is it possible that you could help me get to that page without having to save something to get to it?

Today alone I've had 13 crashes and I'll have to shut it off to avoid more damage...

Thanks for your reply. I guess I'll try the experts here before I close... Adela
