Can't uninstall

After updating I received a runtime error: PROGRAM_ERROR_MISSING_FILE(2,ombamcore.dll)

This error won't let me uninstall. It found two Trojans which went to the vault.

Downloaded a new version which installed but get the same message.

When I try to uninstall with windows uninstall program I get the same error.

This is on an Windows XP pro, an older pc. On my primary pc a Windows 7 pro I updated the nnew version with no problems.

Any help appreciated.

I got a response from support to # Open AVG and click on Tools and select Advanced Settings

# Click on Resident Shield

# Click on Exceptions then click Add Path

# Exclude the following directories:

# C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

It should no longer detect the files.

Now, restore the file from AVG quarantine.[/b]

I did all that and worked until I ran AVG again and it quarantined the file even though it was in the exception list.

go figure???

AVG should have this corrected within the next couple of hours. Please wait and update AVG then.
