Mcafeee & Spybot have failed...

Recommended Posts

My dad just ran a Spybot scan which took him around an hour, and it only detects on adware file which it cannot delete.

Mcafee comes up clean.

My dad asks me for help and I told my dad he should get a new anti-virus and NOT use Spybot easpecially tea timer!

He doesn't really care but just told me to remove it, and so I get MBAM and quick scan.

MBAM detected 65 infections, and all have been successfully removed.

Today, Malwarebytes has saved my dad's laptop.

I definitely agree Wildman. Since I have been in this malware removal school myself I have found that there are many lil bugs that can be hiding in there waiting to pop their heads out again that scans can miss.

If MBAM has removed the infections and there are no longer any signs of an infection then you should be all set. If you want run a DDS scan and post back the logs.

and save it to your desktop

Disable any script blocker if your Anti-Virus/Anti-Malware has it.

Once downloaded you can disconnect from the Internet and disable your Ant-Virus temporarily if needed.

Then double click
to run the tool.

When done, the
will open.

Click Yes at the next prompt for Optional Scan.

When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:

  1. DDS.txt

  2. Attach.txt

  • Save both reports to your desktop

  • Please include the following logs in your next reply:
