repeated problems with all Malwarebytes versions

I have had repeated problems with all Malwarebytes versions on one of my computers , solved by uninstalling it.

Computer would freeze after about 20 minutes of surfing, requiring rebooting. Running super-smoothly without Malwarebytes which I would have preferred to continue using. Interestingly, it works fine on an older laptop. (Both are Dells.)

I'm preparing to post an inquiry re suggestions for other free anti malware applications.

You are using the free version and it freezes when you don't perform a scan?

Can you provide more information:

1. What Anti Virus are you running and any other protection programs.

2. Version of Windows and service pack level.

Freezing of free version occurred while surfing the Web. No matter what sites were being contacted, after about 20 minutes computer just froze and needed rebooting with scenario recurring after another 20 minutes. Malwarebytes scans never presented any problems. Dramatic improvement in laptop function was noted when Malwarebytes was removed.

Running:

Windows XP Home (SP3)

All applications are free versions: Avast antivirus

SUPERAntiSpyware, Spyware Terminator, Spywareblaster

Comodo Firewall Pro

Hmm the free version really shouldnt collide with anything.. as its pretty much on demand.

Have you tried adding exceptions for the Mbam folder and the mbamservice.exe in Avast?
