Real time protection won't load

Recommended Posts

It says "Thank you for your purchase, you may enable protection module"

But when I do it, I get this:

[Create Service] Failed to perform desired action. Error code 1072.

It had always worked fine, but was noticed to be not loaded after recent reboot. I downloaded and installed fresh install but still have problem.

What should I do?

Hi cnm :)

Traditional uninstall doesn't remove all components.

Give this a try:

1. Uninstall Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware using Add or Remove programs in the Control Panel.

2. Restart your computer (very important).

3. Download and run this utility.

4. It will ask to restart your computer (please allow it to).

5. After the computer restarts, install the latest version from here.

Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent via e-mail if you purchased it.

If it becomes a repeated thing, then we will investigate the cause, but for now, continue using it as normal and we'll write it off as a one-time glitch.

This just happened to me today as well. Noticed the message window that Error 1072 occurred and the Protection Mode will not Enable. Will correct it the tedious way but the first post appears to not be a one time glitch. I own my copy and it has been running fine for over a month. No idea what caused the Protection piece to fail.
